Unleash the weird side art journal page

Hi all

I am back with an art journal page using the colour theme for April's Challenge. Black and red made me want to use skulls so i did. I love the creepy doll from the Halloween On The Shelf set so i added that too.

Join our challenge here

Stamp sets used

Stencils
Black gesso
Red Paint
White Paint
Brayer
Black ink pad
Red ink pad
Marker pens

Start the page off by drawing the words onto a plain sheet using a marker pen and then colouring them in.

Cut out the words and put them to one side for now.

Use the Grungy Cobwebs Background stamp and use it over a blank page. Next use a brayer to roll red paint over a stencil and then use the stencil like a stamp across the page.

Add the next stencil using black gesso

Spray the whole page with black mist spray and leave it to dry. Next add white paint to the background by rolling it over a stencil.

Add the words to the page and then stamp out a few skulls from the Dribonze set and the Halloween On a Shelf set. Cut them out add add them around the page to finish.

Life And Death Art Journal Page

Hi all

I  have an art journal page to share with you. I really wanted to doodle some flowers with skulls in the centers but i couldn't get the skulls to look right so i used a stamp instead.

I used a gelli plate to create the background and once the first layer was completed i added a stencil  over the top and then another layer of paint. I then used a stencil and black gesso to add the large skull.

I stamped out the stems first and then i too some gelli prints and stamped three sets o six small hearts from the hearty doodles set. I cut them out and arranged them like petals.

Next i stamped out the skull boarders from the Dribonez set and cut out the skulls for the flower centers. The leaves are created from bat wings because normal leaves didn't look right.

A Very Honest Sweary Journal Page

Hi all

I am back after a little break. I haven't been feeling my darkside lately but it has come back and is edger than usual. It is not PG13 so here is a picture of a kitten so i don't get banned from the internet.

Life isn't all rainbows and roses, sometimes you come across a quote that sums it up perfectly. To be honest it is another one of those years where shit happens and then keeps happening. Yep my year has diarrhea.

I used a mixture of Crafter's Companion texture stamps and The Blank Page Muse Stamps. Because you can't go straight in with the cuss words.

I really like these little flowers and here they are

Day of the dead art journal page

Hi all

I made up a journal page using the Sugar Skull Stencil from Imagination Crafts.

1) Apply the Sugar Skull stencil onto card stock using modeling paste.
2) Once dry spray over with water and then sprinkle brusho powder over the top and leave to dy.
3) Rub Metallic Lustre over the embossed areas and cut out the skull.

4)  Take a blank page and spritz with water.
5)  Sprinkle over with Purple Brusho powder and pat the ink over the page with a baby wipe.
6) Use a crackle texture stamp over the top
7) Use the Daisy Delight Stencil and apply over page with modeling paste.
8) Colour in with metallic lustre.

9) Dye a section of paper flowers with ink
10) Glue the flowers around the head of the skull
11) Adhere skull to page and decorate with resin flowers.

Thank you for visiting.

Rick St Dennis: Let's All Play on the Scary Go Round

Hi all

I have a new journal page to share using the Scary go Round stamp by Rick St Dennis

I used a stencil on the background and let the modeling paste set enough so it forms a skin on top. i then spritzed ink over the top and let it dry.

I added another layer of stenciling and this time i used Brusho powder to dye  the gesso blue. Next i added a few texture stamps and a textured border.

I coloured the image in using Prima water colours and a fine tipped water pen.
